Homs Schools Launch ‘Safe Return, My School is More Beautiful’ Campaign
The Directorate of Education in Homs Governorate is currently implementing the “Safe Return, My School is More Beautiful” campaign. The initiative is part of broader efforts to foster a supportive and motivating educational environment for students as the 2026-2027 academic year begins.
The campaign, launched under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, is scheduled to run until September 17. Its primary objectives are to reinforce school discipline and ensure that educational facilities are fully prepared to welcome students with a refreshed pedagogical approach.
Dr. Malak Al-Sibai, Director of Education in Homs, stated that the campaign includes a wide array of recreational, educational, cultural, and sports activities. These events, carried out through the collaborative efforts of teaching staff, administrators, and students, are designed to identify student talents, nurture creativity, and cultivate an interactive atmosphere that encourages students to return to the classroom with renewed enthusiasm.
Emad Al-Omar, Head of the Protection and Activities Department at the Directorate, noted that school activity supervisors have been instructed to focus on programs that promote meaningful educational and social values. This focus is intended to ensure a distinct and positive start to the academic year.
Several schools, including the First High School for Gifted Girls, have already begun implementing a variety of scientific and cultural activities aimed at enhancing the psychological and educational well-being of the students. Participating students expressed satisfaction with the initiatives, noting that the diversity of sports and cultural activities has brought vitality to the school environment and increased their motivation to approach their studies with diligence and energy.
This campaign falls within the Ministry of Education’s broader efforts to standardize school readiness across all governorates. Nationwide, more than 5,200,000 students returned to their schools early last week following the completion of administrative and logistical preparations to ensure the regular functioning of the educational process. These activities are part of a comprehensive strategy adopted by Syrian educational institutions to strengthen student-school interaction and guarantee a safe and stimulating environment for the current academic year.
