Gold Prices See Slight Increase in Syrian Markets

The local Syrian gold market experienced a shift in prices today, Saturday, as rates saw a slight increase compared to the levels recorded in the previous bulletin released last Thursday.

According to data issued by the General Authority for Precious Metals, the price of 21-karat gold increased by 200 Syrian pounds. Following this adjustment, the selling price for a gram of 21-karat gold reached 16,500 Syrian pounds, while the purchase price was recorded at 16,200 Syrian pounds.

Regarding 18-karat gold, the bulletin indicated relative stability in pricing. The selling price for a gram of 18-karat gold stood at 14,150 Syrian pounds, while the purchase price reached 13,850 Syrian pounds.

These changes in local pricing occur in conjunction with fluctuations in global markets, where the price of a gold ounce reached 4,284 dollars. The General Authority for Precious Metals in Syria employs periodic standards to determine gold prices in local markets. This process is part of its ongoing efforts to regulate the trade of precious metals and ensure price stability within the Syrian market in accordance with prevailing economic variables.

These figures reflect the daily trading activity across Syrian goldsmith shops and markets. Dealers and citizens continue to monitor these officially issued bulletins to stay informed about the latest price developments governing the precious metals sector in the country.
