Electrical Grid Upgrades Underway in Al-Hasakah Province
Maintenance teams affiliated with the Al-Hasakah Electricity Company have successfully concluded a major round of rehabilitation works across several districts of the province. The initiative is part of an ongoing strategic effort to bolster the readiness of the regional power grid and improve the stability of electricity supply for local residents and businesses.
According to an official update provided by the local media directorate, the recent technical interventions focused on critical infrastructure points. In the city of Al-Hasakah, crews completed essential repairs at the Hikmat Mulla Ali transformation center, as well as the Al-Afayej pre-fabricated center located in the Ghwayran neighborhood.
Simultaneously, the rehabilitation program extended to the city of Qamishli, where teams overhauled numerous transformation centers. The list of serviced sites includes Saqr Quraish, Al-Sharif Al-Radi, Ajmo, Al-Mukhtar, Hussein Haji Annex, Tel Ziwan, Riad, Waratha, Al-Hadeeqa, and Jarnak. These centers are vital nodes in the local network, and their maintenance is expected to assist in reducing technical losses and improving service reliability.
In a related effort, a specialized cable and underground line repair unit completed maintenance work on the 20-kilovolt Kindi line. This specific repair is part of a broader, continuous maintenance campaign designed to address network faults, manage aging infrastructure, and enhance the overall distribution efficiency for subscribers in the province.
These efforts follow a previous phase of maintenance concluded earlier this month, on August 8, which saw the successful rehabilitation of several medium-voltage lines and damaged cable networks, along with the restoration of additional transformation capacity in Al-Hasakah city. The electricity company continues to prioritize the repair of lines and facilities damaged by operational wear and environmental factors, aiming to ensure consistent power delivery throughout the governorate. The ongoing maintenance schedule remains a top priority for local infrastructure management, reflecting a systematic attempt to mitigate the impacts of power instability in the region.
