Defense Minister Marks Anniversary of 2013 Ghouta Chemical Attack
Syrian Minister of Defense Murhaf Abu Qasra has issued a statement commemorating the anniversary of the chemical weapons massacre that took place in the Eastern and Western Ghouta regions on August 21, 2013. Among those identified as being in custody are Adnan Abboud Hilweh, Mohammad Hassan al-Sharif, Amro Mohammad Armanazi, Jayez Hammoud al-Mousa, Mizar Sawan, and Rami Qanbar Suleiman.
Officials stated that these detentions represent a critical step in a broader institutional effort to ensure accountability.
