Syria and Jordan Discuss Strengthening Economic and Trade Cooperation
Syrian and Jordanian officials met in Damascus this week to discuss strategies for bolstering economic and trade relations between the two countries. The dialogue focused on strengthening ties between the respective business communities to facilitate increased trade volume and enhance cooperation.
Alaa Omar Al-Ali, Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, hosted the meeting with the Jordanian Ambassador to Damascus, Sufyan Al-Qudah. They were joined by Anas Al-Bou, the head of the Federation’s Foreign Relations Committee. The discussions underscored the pivotal role that chambers of commerce and the private sector play in driving bilateral economic cooperation.
During the session, the participants explored mechanisms to streamline the movement of goods and facilitate business travel, which officials identified as essential steps toward revitalizing commercial activity. Both sides emphasized the need for a conducive business environment to help address existing challenges currently hindering trade.
