Quneitra Hosts Youth Empowerment Event to Support Local Projects
The Youth Affairs Office in Quneitra, in collaboration with the Nour Foundation for Relief and Development, organized a youth empowerment event at the Cultural Center in the city of Al-Salam. Held on Tuesday, the event aimed to bolster the skills of local youth, provide support for their professional development, and assist in the growth of their independent projects and innovative ideas.
The initiative, organized in observance of International Youth Day, featured an exhibition showcasing various small-scale youth projects. These enterprises, which are currently generating income for their owners, served as the focal point of the event. Organizers and participants engaged in constructive dialogues regarding the practical challenges faced by these young entrepreneurs. The discussions emphasized the necessity of creating formal economic feasibility studies for these projects to better prepare them for future engagement with potential investors and business partners.
Batoul Arabi, the head of the Quneitra Youth Affairs Office, noted that the event serves as a platform for identifying and addressing obstacles that hinder the success of local youth-led initiatives. She emphasized that Syrian youth possess significant skills and creative ideas, but they require a supportive environment to successfully transition these concepts into sustainable, long-term ventures. Arabi further stated that efforts are ongoing to establish stronger networks between the Youth Affairs Office, the Nour Foundation, and other relevant organizations to provide the necessary resources and mentorship for aspiring entrepreneurs in the province.
In addition to the project exhibition, the event included a seminar focused on modern governance practices and professional work on digital platforms, aiming to provide participants with technical skills that are essential in the current job market.
International Youth Day, observed annually on August 12, is a global initiative established by the United Nations in 1999 to draw attention to the issues facing young people. The event in Quneitra reflects a broader commitment to enhancing youth participation in local development and fostering their role in building more inclusive and sustainable communities.
