18 Injured in Traffic Accidents and Fires Across Syria

Syrian Civil Defense teams have reported responding to a series of emergency incidents across the country over the past 24 hours, resulting in a total of 18 injuries among civilians.

According to an official statement issued by the Civil Defense, emergency crews attended to 16 separate traffic accidents throughout various provinces. These incidents led to injuries for 16 individuals. Specialized personnel provided immediate first aid to the victims before transporting them to nearby hospitals for further medical care. In addition to the medical response, the teams worked to clear the accident sites and restore traffic safety to the affected roads.

In a separate series of operations, Civil Defense teams responded to 31 fires that broke out in different regions. The fires affected a variety of locations, including private homes and commercial properties, as well as incidents involving dry grass, trees, refuse, and electrical wiring. These fire-related incidents resulted in injuries to two people, both of whom received on-site medical assistance from responders. Damage from the remaining fires was limited to material losses. Responders successfully extinguished the flames and conducted cooling operations at the sites to ensure that the fires did not reignite.

Following these incidents, the Civil Defense has renewed its public safety warnings, urging citizens to strictly adhere to preventative measures. Authorities strongly advised against lighting fires in forested areas or agricultural fields and emphasized the need to refrain from discarding cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, as these can easily spark blazes—particularly in areas adjacent to crops or woodlands. Furthermore, residents were encouraged to clear dry vegetation from around their homes and road perimeters using safe, controlled methods rather than burning them.

These field operations highlight the ongoing efforts of Civil Defense teams across Syria to manage emergencies and maintain public safety. Reports indicate that these response efforts are part of a continuous operational cycle; only two days prior, the Civil Defense recorded an additional ten injuries resulting from various traffic accidents across the country.
