Internal Security Forces Solve Murder Case in Sahnaya

Syrian Internal Security Forces have announced the arrest of a suspect involved in the murder of a young man in the city of Sahnaya, located in the Rif Dimashq governorate. The arrest was part of ongoing efforts by the Criminal Security Department to resolve criminal cases and apprehend perpetrators.
Security authorities identified the suspect as (A. J.). During questioning, the suspect confessed to intentionally committing the murder using a military-grade rifle. The arrest followed a period of intensive monitoring and investigation conducted by the Criminal Security branch. The Internal Security Forces confirmed that the suspect’s confession is fully consistent with forensic analysis of surveillance footage from the vicinity of the incident. This footage had previously been widely circulated on social media platforms. The recordings depict an armed individual exiting a vehicle and firing at close range toward a man inside another vehicle, resulting in his immediate death.
Relevant authorities stated that investigations with the suspect are ongoing. These proceedings are intended to finalize the necessary legal requirements before referring the case to the competent judiciary. Once before the court, the perpetrator will face justice in accordance with established Syrian law.
This security operation is part of broader efforts to bolster public safety and combat violent crimes that threaten the well-being of citizens across Syria. Security institutions reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the rule of law and protecting lives and property through increased patrols and field investigations into incidents that disrupt public order.
