Syria Launches International Security and Safety Exhibition FORTIX 2026

The Syria International Security and Safety Exhibition, ‘FORTIX 2026,’ officially opened on Sunday at the Damascus Fairgrounds. This event marks a national first for the country, designed to highlight cutting-edge technical solutions and advanced systems across critical sectors, including industrial security, occupational safety, civil defense, firefighting, disaster management, and cybersecurity.
The exhibition is organized by Wasm, a company specializing in electronic solutions and intelligent software, in partnership with the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management. The event is supported by various government institutions and companies from both the public and private sectors.
FORTIX 2026 has attracted significant international attention, featuring the participation of 35 experts and specialists from various countries. Throughout the event, these experts will share their technical expertise and insights during a series of dialogue sessions, specialized lectures, and practical workshops held alongside the main exhibition.
In his opening address, the Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed Al-Saleh, emphasized the strategic importance of the event in strengthening protection standards for both facilities and individuals across Syria. Al-Saleh noted that the inaugural edition serves as a comprehensive platform for showcasing digital solutions and smart technologies aimed at improving emergency response efficiency and modernizing industrial security infrastructure.
Al-Saleh further highlighted the exhibition’s pivotal role in the nation’s ongoing reconstruction phase. He stressed the necessity of implementing international codes and safety standards within construction sites and infrastructure rehabilitation projects. The Minister explained that adherence to these global standards is not only essential for reducing occupational accidents but also critical for increasing production efficiency and ensuring the operational stability of industrial facilities, thereby supporting the country’s economic sustainability.
The exhibition aims to engage stakeholders and key players in the field of preventive security. It provides an opportunity for companies and institutions to explore the latest innovations in the protection of facilities and public infrastructure. Furthermore, the event seeks to establish a culture of occupational safety as a core pillar in the planning of major national projects. Organizers expect that the findings from the workshops and dialogue sessions will significantly enhance the capabilities of the national workforce operating in the emergency, security, and safety sectors, in alignment with modern requirements for crisis and risk management.
