Arms Cache Discovered in Tartus Mountains

Syrian internal security leadership in Tartus has announced the successful discovery of a weapons and ammunition cache in a mountainous area within the Al-Qadmus district. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to bolster regional stability and curb the illicit spread of weaponry.
According to security authorities, a meticulous search of the site led to the recovery of various military supplies. The seized cache included a 12.7mm caliber machine gun, along with a quantity of assorted ammunition. Security officials also identified military uniforms among the items recovered, which were characterized as remnants from previous periods.
This operation occurs as the Syrian Ministry of Interior continues to intensify security measures aimed at curbing the proliferation of illegal arms. These efforts include tracking down individuals involved in activities that threaten the security and safety of citizens or attempt to undermine regional stability. The discovery is part of a broader security strategy implemented by relevant agencies across various Syrian governorates to eliminate acts of sabotage and ensure the rule of law.
It is noteworthy that the internal security forces in Tartus have demonstrated significant activity in recent times. On August 8, in close cooperation with the General Intelligence Directorate, security forces successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a shipment of weapons and ammunition intended for transit toward Lebanese territory. This success underscores the high level of preparedness and vigilance maintained by security agencies in monitoring and securing border areas and vital regions to prevent their exploitation for unlawful activities.
