New Tender Announced for Echo Machine at Latakia University Hospital

The General Authority for Supply and Procurement has announced a second call for price quotations to secure an echo machine for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, specifically for the Latakia University Hospital. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to modernize medical equipment across Syrian public hospitals.

Interested parties must submit their bids by the end of the official working day on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The tender, registered under number 079-C-2026, includes strict technical and financial conditions that must be adhered to for proposals to be considered. Applicants are required to submit their bids in three separate envelopes—containing supporting documentation, a technical proposal, and a financial proposal—all enclosed within a single signed and sealed envelope. The outer envelope must clearly display the tender number and the date of the announcement.

According to the specified conditions, the required initial deposit is 250,000 Syrian pounds, while the final deposit is set at 10% of the total contract value. The terms also stipulate a delay penalty of 0.001 of the total value of the materials for each day of delay, provided that the total penalty does not exceed 20% of the contract value. The project execution period is 90 calendar days, beginning from the date of the commencement order. Bidders are required to remain committed to their offers for a period of three months following the bid submission deadline.

Interested entities may obtain the tender documentation from the office of the General Authority for Supply and Procurement in Damascus for a fee of $50 USD. The Authority also provides an electronic payment option via the “Sham Cash” application. The organization emphasized that any bids failing to meet the stated requirements, or lacking the initial deposit receipt in the first envelope, will not be considered.

This tender is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s broader measures to upgrade medical facilities at university hospitals in the Latakia governorate, ensuring the continued and efficient delivery of medical services to citizens in accordance with required standards.
