Homs Hosts Mass Wedding for Over 100 Children of Martyrs

The city of Homs hosted a mass wedding ceremony on Sunday, celebrating the marriages of more than 100 young men, all of whom are children of martyrs. The event, held at the Agricultural Engineers Club in Homs, was organized to provide support to Syrian youth, helping them manage the financial burdens associated with establishing new families amid the current economic climate.
The initiative received organizational and financial backing from the “Alam T” Foundation and the Al-Salamah Company, and was held under the patronage of the Homs Directorate of Awqaf.
Speaking at the event, the Director of Awqaf for Homs, Abdul Alim Hilal, emphasized that the initiative represents more than just a wedding ceremony. He described the event as a message of support aimed at strengthening Syrian families and fostering societal stability. Hilal noted that the mandate of the Ministry of Awqaf and relevant institutions extends beyond traditional service roles; it includes a proactive commitment to maintaining social cohesion, caring for the children of martyrs, and facilitating their social and living conditions. He expressed his gratitude to all the organizations and companies that contributed to the success of the initiative.
Ammar Mohammed Jubna, director of the event’s coordination committee, explained that the mass wedding serves as an expression of loyalty to the sacrifices made by the martyrs. He underscored that such events reinforce the concept of social solidarity among the members of the Syrian community.
One of the participants, groom Marwan Saif al-Din, expressed his appreciation to the organizers. He stated that the initiative provided essential and meaningful support to young couples starting their lives together, particularly in light of the economic challenges and daily living pressures they currently face.
This initiative is part of a series of community and charitable activities occurring across Syrian governorates. These efforts are aimed at alleviating the financial burdens on youth and providing new opportunities for them to build stable families, reflecting a broader approach to strengthening social and national bonds while overcoming difficulties through community cooperation.
