Power Outages Affect Al-Mayadeen, Al-Bukamal, and Deir ez-Zor

Several regions within Deir ez-Zor Governorate are currently experiencing a disruption in electrical power supply following a technical failure within the regional network. According to local sources, the outage has impacted the city of Al-Mayadeen and its surrounding countryside, the city of Al-Bukamal and its surrounding areas, as well as the town of Gharanij and its vicinity.

The power interruption was caused by a disconnection in the main line supplying the Al-Jalaa, Al-Mayadeen, and Gharanij power stations. Additionally, a technical fault was reported on the 66 kV high-voltage line that provides power to the transformer stations serving these specific districts.

In response to the outage, the General Electricity Company of Deir ez-Zor announced that maintenance crews from the Eastern Region’s Power Transmission branch were dispatched immediately upon the detection of the fault. These teams are currently conducting field inspections to pinpoint the exact location and nature of the damage. The primary objective is to initiate the necessary repair works to restore electrical supply to the affected areas as swiftly as possible. The company has confirmed that technical teams will remain on-site, continuing their efforts until the line is fully secured and returned to operational service.

This incident is part of the ongoing efforts by the General Electricity Company to address and repair recurrent technical issues affecting the electrical grid across the governorate. The company maintains its commitment to providing power to the residents of Deir ez-Zor, including all its cities, towns, and villages. These efforts aim to ensure the continuity of essential infrastructure within the governorate, despite the persistent technical and field challenges currently facing the region’s energy sector.
