Rif Dimashq Authorities Issue 295 Fines in Weekly Market Sweep

The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Rif Dimashq has intensified its efforts to regulate local markets and commercial activities, reporting a significant volume of enforcement activity over the past week. According to official data, the directorate carried out more than 100 field inspection tours between September 24 and September 30.

The regulatory campaign covered 1,143 diverse commercial establishments across various regions of Rif Dimashq. The primary objective of these inspections was to verify that merchants are adhering to established pricing regulations and consumer protection guidelines, while ensuring the quality of goods and services provided to the public.

As a result of these operations, 295 administrative violation reports were issued against businesses found to be in non-compliance. These measures are part of the legal procedures implemented by the ministry to curb market violations and prevent price manipulation or unethical trade practices.

These ongoing regulatory efforts are central to the mandate of the Rif Dimashq Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection. By monitoring market activities and curbing illicit commercial practices, the directorate aims to uphold the rights of Syrian consumers. This is particularly critical under the current economic conditions, which necessitate consistent and rigorous oversight of commercial facilities to ensure stability and discipline within the local market.
