Water Supply Restored to Pumping Stations in Daraa Province

Daraa province has seen a significant improvement in its water supply situation over the past few hours, following the restoration of electrical power to the region’s main pumping stations. This development successfully concludes the operational suspension that had affected various water projects due to power outages in the recent period.

Riyad Al-Masalma, Director General of the General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Daraa, confirmed that the return of electricity has directly facilitated the resumption of pumping operations and the refilling of water reservoirs that had been temporarily affected by the power supply crisis. Al-Masalma highlighted that the Al-Ashari project reservoir, considered a vital facility in the region, has begun refilling, and primary pumping operations have officially returned to service.

Al-Masalma noted that technical crews are working around the clock to bring the remaining wells and pumping stations that had ceased operations back online. He emphasized that efforts remain ongoing to ensure the gradual restoration of the standard water pumping schedule across the province.

These developments come as regional service authorities prioritize the consistent delivery of water to residents, noting that the stability of the electrical grid is directly linked to the functionality of the water network. It is expected that the coming days will see greater stability in water distribution as all water facilities and their associated infrastructure return to full operational capacity, following the temporary disruptions caused by recent fluctuations in the electrical supply.
