One Dead, Four Injured in Series of Traffic Accidents in Daraa

Daraa province witnessed a series of traffic accidents on Tuesday, resulting in casualties and prompting an immediate response from the civil defense teams of the province’s Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate.

Ahmad Al-Hajer, the directorate’s operations commander, reported that the most significant incident occurred on the Damascus-Daraa highway near the Namir bridge. A collision between a motorcycle and a truck resulted in the immediate death of a young man.

Al-Hajer further stated that several additional accidents were recorded across the province. These incidents took place in the towns of Khirbet Ghazala and Umm al-Mayadhin, as well as on the road connecting the cities of Al-Shaykh Maskin and Ibtaa. These collisions involved various motorcycles, including one incident where a motorcycle collided with an agricultural tractor.

The accidents resulted in injuries to four individuals, one of whom is reported to be in critical condition. Civil defense teams were deployed immediately upon receiving notification of the incidents. They worked to transport the injured to nearby medical centers for necessary first aid and treatment. Additionally, the teams cleared the debris from the sites to restore the flow of traffic and ensure road safety.

These recent incidents occur amid an increasing frequency of traffic accidents within Daraa province. The region previously experienced a similar event on the 18th of this month, which resulted in one fatality and 23 injuries. The recurring nature of these incidents continues to highlight ongoing concerns regarding public safety on the roads throughout the province.
