Temperatures Drop Across Syria With Rain Forecast for Coastal Regions

Most regions across Syria have seen a noticeable decrease in temperatures, with readings falling one to three degrees Celsius below the usual annual averages. According to the National Meteorological Center, the country is experiencing a typical autumn pattern characterized by partially cloudy to occasionally overcast skies.
Weather forecasts indicate a high probability of rain showers, primarily concentrated over the coastal region, parts of the northwest, and western sections of the central region. In some areas, particularly along the coast, rainfall is expected to be heavy at times and accompanied by thunderstorms. Conversely, the eastern, Al-Jazeera, and southeastern regions, along with the Syrian Badia, are experiencing dusty and hazy conditions.
During the night, the weather will turn generally cooler, with more intense cold expected in mountainous areas and higher humidity levels in western regions. The National Meteorological Center has issued a warning regarding the formation of fog in parts of the central region, the Qalamoun area, and the Damascus Ghouta during the early morning hours.
Wind patterns are currently moderate, blowing from the west to the southwest. However, active gusts may occasionally exceed 60 km/h, particularly in the southern, central, and northern coastal regions, leading to dust storms in the interior. Marine conditions are expected to range from moderate to high waves at times.
Temperature readings across the governorates showed notable variances. In Damascus, the high reached 28 degrees and the low 14 degrees, while Aleppo recorded a high of 28 degrees and a low of 19 degrees. Coastal areas saw temperatures in Tartus reach 29 degrees for the high and 23 for the low, while Latakia recorded a high of 26 and a low of 22 degrees. In the eastern region, temperatures remained relatively higher, with Deir ez-Zor recording 33 degrees Celsius.
