Ahmed Al-Sharaa Discusses Investment Opportunities with US Chamber

Ahmed Al-Sharaa held a roundtable meeting with members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and representatives from major American companies on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Assad Hassan Al-Shaibani and focused on strengthening economic partnerships and expanding investment prospects.

The discussion centered on identifying investment opportunities within Syria, with a specific focus on vital economic and development sectors. Participants explored potential collaborations in energy, technology, healthcare, and banking. Both sides emphasized the importance of these sectors in supporting reconstruction efforts and economic recovery, aiming to foster an environment conducive to international investment.

This engagement follows a recent surge in economic dialogue between the two sides. On the 14th of this month, Damascus hosted a high-level economic delegation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. That delegation, which included representatives from 50 companies and over 80 envoys, conducted a series of intensive meetings with Syrian officials to explore investment opportunities and enhance economic cooperation across various fields.

These ongoing meetings reflect a mutual interest in advancing priority projects that contribute to Syria’s economic development. The continuous dialogue serves to identify the most critical sectors for supporting stability and growth in the upcoming phase.
