Registration Opens for 18,000 Teaching Vacancies in Syria
The Ministry of Administrative Development, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, has announced the launch of an electronic registration process for the first phase of a recruitment competition aimed at filling more than 18,000 educational and teaching vacancies. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to equip educational institutions with necessary staff and address staffing requirements across several Syrian governorates.
According to official reports, the competition is open to university degree holders and institute graduates residing in the governorates of Rif Dimashq, Aleppo, and Daraa. The Ministry stated that registration will remain open until October 7. Applicants are advised to review the specific job requirements and available specializations via the designated online portal, where they must also submit their applications.
Regarding the eligibility criteria, the Ministry confirmed that priority will be given to candidates with university degrees, though institute graduates are also invited to apply based on the advertised specializations. A key requirement for applicants is that they must not be currently employed in any public sector role. However, an exception is made for current teachers working under contract with the Ministry of Education, as well as those who have previously held such roles or have recently applied via the teacher contract application system.
Additional regulations stipulate that an applicant’s civil registration must be in the same governorate for which they are applying. Individuals whose employment with the Ministry of Education was previously terminated due to resignation are eligible to apply, provided that their previous service did not entitle them to a retirement pension under current laws and regulations.
In terms of the selection process, the Ministry emphasized that any applications that do not strictly comply with the requirements of the job vacancy notice will be automatically excluded. Should the number of qualified applicants exceed the number of available positions, the applications will be processed and ranked electronically. This ranking will be based on specific criteria, including academic degree and specialization, general grade point average, professional experience, personal skills, and age.
The Ministry stated that the names of qualified candidates will be announced at a later date. Successful applicants will then proceed to the subsequent stages of the hiring process, which include examinations and personal interviews designed to ensure the selection of the most suitable candidates for the educational sector.
