Kafar Hamra Fundraising Campaign Raises Over $1.5 Million
The “Loyalty to the City of Kafar Hamra” campaign in northern rural Aleppo has officially concluded, successfully raising over $1.5 million in financial and in-kind donations. This community-led initiative aims to address urgent service requirements and support vital development projects within the city.
Khaled Jaghal, the Director of the Haritan sub-district and representative for the northern Samaan area, confirmed that the campaign was held under the auspices of the “Aleppo is the City of All” (Halab Set al-Kul) initiative. The effort was organized in direct coordination with the local community committee, as well as the dignitaries and residents of Kafar Hamra. Jaghal stated that the primary objective of these collective efforts is to provide a swift response to the most pressing service needs currently facing the local population.
In collaboration with the local community committee, the regional administration has developed a comprehensive plan to direct these funds toward a range of essential service priorities. A primary focus will be the repair of damaged sewage networks and the rehabilitation of drinking water grids to ensure consistent supply for residents. Furthermore, the plan includes projects to widen main and secondary streets within the city, as well as land leveling, lighting, and tree-planting initiatives designed to improve the city’s overall appearance and local service environment.
In addition to infrastructure repairs, the campaign will allocate a portion of its resources to supporting the city’s education and health sectors. This includes contributions toward the rehabilitation of schools and health clinics to ensure that these fundamental services remain accessible to citizens in a suitable environment. Abdel Ilah al-Qadi, a member of the Kafar Hamra community committee, emphasized that the ongoing coordination between the northern Samaan area administration and the city’s dignitaries is intended to ensure full transparency in the management of funds and to guarantee that projects are implemented in accordance with the most urgent field requirements.
This initiative is part of a broader wave of community activity across Aleppo province. The “Aleppo is the City of All” initiative, which sponsored this campaign, previously recorded more than $426 million in funds last December to support infrastructure rehabilitation and service sector projects in the region. Throughout the current year, such initiatives have contributed to the execution of various field projects, including improvements to healthcare, urban beautification through tree-planting, and the enhancement of general public services. These efforts reflect the ongoing cooperation between the local community and relevant institutions to improve living conditions and service delivery throughout rural Aleppo.
