13 Injured in Various Traffic Accidents and Fires Across Syria

Over the past 24 hours, emergency response teams have dealt with a series of field incidents across various Syrian regions, resulting in 13 injuries. The Civil Defense units under the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Disaster Management were deployed to manage these incidents and provide first aid to those affected.

According to reports released on Saturday, Civil Defense teams responded to 12 separate traffic accidents occurring in different areas. These incidents led to 12 people sustaining injuries of varying severity. Specialist teams worked to secure the accident sites, clear obstructions to ensure the flow of traffic, and transport the injured to local hospitals for necessary medical treatment.

In a parallel effort, Civil Defense units intensified their field operations to contain 30 fires that broke out in various locations. These incidents included blazes in residential homes and commercial shops, as well as fires involving dry grass, trees, refuse, and electrical wiring. One person was injured as a result of these fires and received immediate field treatment. The incidents also resulted in material damage to the properties affected by the flames.

Following these events, the Civil Defense issued urgent safety warnings and guidance for citizens and motorists to enhance general public safety. Drivers are being urged to strictly adhere to speed limits and conduct regular mechanical inspections of their vehicles, particularly regarding brakes and windshield wipers. The authorities also emphasized the need to avoid dangerous behaviors that distract from driving, such as the use of mobile phones.

Furthermore, the teams renewed their appeal to the public to refrain from lighting fires in forested areas and agricultural fields. Citizens are cautioned against discarding cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, as these actions pose significant risks for starting widespread fires. The importance of clearing dry grass around homes using safe methods, rather than burning it, was also highlighted.

These recent incidents follow a period of increased field activity. Just two days prior, Civil Defense teams responded to similar incidents that resulted in two fatalities and 30 injuries. These figures underscore the ongoing need for increased community awareness and the consistent application of public safety standards to mitigate such risks.
