Road Rehabilitation Project Commences in Rural Daraa
The Services Directorate in the southern province of Daraa has initiated urgent road rehabilitation and maintenance operations on the route connecting the towns of Al-Hirak and Nahtah. The project, which covers a stretch of approximately four kilometers in the province’s eastern countryside, is designed to restore infrastructure damaged by time and use, thereby improving safety and facilitating the movement of residents and cargo.
Youssef Al-Hussein, the supervisor of the rehabilitation works from the Services Directorate, stated that the maintenance program focuses on comprehensive asphalt paving for the damaged sections along the entire length of the road. The improvements extend from the connection between the towns of Al-Hirak and Nahtah up to the road junction with the central median in Al-Hirak.
According to Al-Hussein, the project is being carried out using the Directorate’s own resources, including its machinery, specialized asphalt plant, and technical personnel. The progress of the works is being closely monitored by the Director of Technical Services for the province, ensuring that local capabilities are leveraged effectively to complete the project without delay.
This road improvement initiative is part of a broader provincial strategy aimed at repairing and upgrading key transport corridors across the region. Local officials have highlighted the significance of the Al-Hirak–Nahtah road, noting that it serves as a critical artery linking the city of Al-Hirak with the town of Nahtah and several surrounding villages. By rehabilitating this infrastructure, the provincial government aims to improve the quality of services provided to the local population and support essential economic and agricultural activities that rely on this route for transport and logistics.
