Latakia University Hospital Issues Tender for New Ultrasound Equipment
The General Authority for Supply and Logistics has officially announced a new public tender for the procurement of an ultrasound (echo) medical device. The equipment is designated for use at the Latakia University Hospital, falling under the mandate of the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The project, registered under tender number 079-A-2026, aims to bolster the medical infrastructure at the institution. Prospective bidders are required to adhere to the technical specifications and legal conditions detailed in the official tender documentation.
To participate in the bidding process, interested parties must submit their applications in three separate, sealed envelopes: one for legal and financial documentation, including the primary bid bond; one for the technical offer; and one for the financial offer. The primary bid bond is set at 250,000 Syrian Pounds. Failure to include the bond in the initial envelope will result in the automatic rejection of the proposal. The winning bidder will be required to provide a final security deposit equivalent to 10% of the total contract value, payable to the requesting authority within one month of contract finalization.
The deadline for submitting offers is set for the end of the official working day on Thursday, September 3, 2026. Bids must be submitted in person at the offices of the General Authority for Supply and Logistics in Damascus, located in the former Free Zones Establishment building.
The contract stipulates a 90-day implementation period for the delivery and installation of the equipment, commencing from the official order date. Furthermore, the winning supplier must remain committed to their offer for a period of three months following the close of the bidding phase. The agreement also includes a penalty clause for delays, set at 0.001 of the total contract value per day, capped at a maximum of 20% of the total contract price.
Interested parties may obtain the full tender files from the General Authority for Supply and Logistics. The fee for the documentation package is set at 50 USD, which can be processed electronically. Further technical support and coordination regarding the documentation can be managed through the authority’s designated communication channels. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade equipment in public medical facilities under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
