The Syrian Postal Establishment, in collaboration with the General Federation of Trade Unions, held an award ceremony to honor 167 of its employees from the Damascus and Rif Dimashq directorates. The event, hosted at the establishment’s headquarters in Damascus, recognized the staff for their exceptional dedication and service to citizens.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Communications and Technology, the head of the General Federation of Trade Unions, and the head of the General Union of Postal Workers of Egypt, who participated as an invited guest.
In his keynote address, the Minister of Communications and Technology emphasized that Syria is currently at a critical juncture in state-building. He stated that the primary national responsibility is to restore public trust between citizens and state institutions. The Minister described the personnel working within these institutions as the true face of the state and the essential foundation for national progress. He further praised the employees of the Syrian Postal Establishment for their efforts to bridge the gap between current realities and available resources, striving to achieve sustainable development despite the ongoing challenging conditions.
The head of the General Federation of Trade Unions highlighted that workers remain the primary pillar of production and an essential partner in any institutional development process. He noted that the digital transformation and technological advancements sought by the state cannot be achieved through technology alone; they require significant investment in human resources and continuous professional qualification. He also called for integrated efforts between ministries, administrative departments, and trade unions to advance public institutions and enhance their service roles.
The Director General of the Syrian Postal Establishment expressed his appreciation for the initiative, noting that the organization draws its strength from the loyalty of its staff. He emphasized that these workers consistently strive to provide essential daily services to citizens, despite the various challenges they face. He also welcomed the presence of the Egyptian delegation, expressing gratitude for their participation in the recognition ceremony.
The event included personal testimonials from those honored. An employee with forty years of service shared his pride in his professional journey, noting that the recognition serves as a testament to the culture of valuing hard work and dedication. A staff member from the Rif Dimashq postal directorate added that the ceremony serves as an additional incentive for all employees to continue improving the quality of postal services, ultimately benefiting citizens and fostering institutional loyalty during the ongoing phase of rebuilding state institutions.
