Al-Nour Specialized Hospital Reopens in Deir ez-Zor

Al-Nour Specialized Hospital, known locally as “Al-Thawra,” has officially resumed medical operations in Deir ez-Zor. The reopening of the facility marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to restore health services and infrastructure across the province after years of inactivity.

The hospital had ceased operations during the years of the crisis as it faced severe challenges, including restrictions, facility incursions, and direct targeting during periods of intense shelling in the city. These difficult conditions forced the hospital to close its doors and halted the work of medical staff, causing a notable decline in the availability of healthcare services for the local population.

The return of this medical facility is viewed as a key development in strengthening the health sector in Deir ez-Zor. By providing much-needed medical care to residents who have long suffered from a shortage of health services due to the hospital’s prolonged closure, the facility plays a critical role in local recovery. This reopening serves as an indicator of the commitment of the relevant authorities to rehabilitate vital facilities and restore the infrastructure necessary to meet the medical needs of the citizens.

Al-Nour Hospital, recognized as one of the city’s important specialized medical centers, has already begun receiving patients. While the facility is currently providing services based on available resources, there are clear expectations that the quality of care will continue to improve and the scope of medical procedures will expand in the near future, in line with the broader health recovery plans for the region.
