Israeli Forces Fire on Agricultural Lands in Quneitra

Tensions flared in the southern countryside of Quneitra on Friday, following reports that Israeli occupation forces opened fire toward agricultural lands surrounding the town of Kodna. The incident, which resulted in no civilian injuries, is the latest in a series of ongoing violations reported in the area.

According to local reports, Israeli forces stationed at the Western Tell al-Ahmar site directly targeted the farmland. Local observers described the action as an attempt to intimidate civilians residing in the vicinity who rely on these lands for their livelihoods.

This incident follows a similar event just two days prior. On Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces launched several artillery shells into the vicinity of Eastern Tell al-Ahmar in the southern Quneitra countryside. That incident also impacted agricultural lands and resulted in no human casualties.

These ongoing maneuvers are viewed as a breach of the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement, which is intended to maintain stability and calm in the region. Recent Israeli activity in southern Syria has included a series of violations, such as repeated incursions into Syrian territory, raids on civilian homes, the detention of individuals, land clearing operations, and sporadic artillery fire.

In response, the Syrian government has reiterated its stance regarding the illegitimacy of all actions taken by Israeli forces within its territory. Damascus maintains that these measures hold no legal standing under the principles of international law. Syrian authorities have called upon the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities, urging action to compel an Israeli withdrawal from southern Syria and to end all forms of aggression targeting civilians and their property.
