Social Insurance Institution Launches New Digital Services

As part of its ongoing efforts toward digital transformation and improving service quality, the General Organization for Social Insurance has announced the launch of two new electronic services. These initiatives are designed to notify relevant parties via short message service (SMS), aiming to save time, reduce effort, and streamline administrative procedures for users.

The first service targets business owners who have been listed as delinquent in settling their financial obligations for a period of three months. Under this new measure, they will receive direct notifications alerting them to the necessity of visiting the organization’s branches. The goal is to settle their financial status and clear outstanding debts, thereby ensuring the continued inclusion of their businesses and employees in the social insurance system while preventing the accumulation of further financial liabilities.

The second service is dedicated to voluntary subscribers, known as self-insurance, in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. 758 of 2015. This service targets subscribers whose arrears have exceeded six months. They will receive SMS alerts informing them of the requirement to complete their payments. This measure is intended to help subscribers preserve their insurance rights and ensure that their coverage continues without interruption.

The General Organization for Social Insurance stated that these procedures are part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance administrative performance and elevate the quality of services. By utilizing modern technology for direct communication with beneficiaries, the organization aims to reduce both the financial and temporal burdens on its clients.

As the official body authorized to implement social insurance systems for workers in both the public and private sectors in Syria, the organization oversees a wide array of files. These include pension compensation, work injury claims, and disability pensions, in addition to all insurance matters related to participants and the insured. These digital updates are part of a broader development process across Syrian state institutions, intended to increase the efficiency of institutional operations.
