Athletics Federation Hosts International Coaching Development Course
As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen professional sports competencies and improve the technical standards of national personnel, the Syrian Arab Athletics Federation has organized a specialized training course titled “International Coaches – Level 1.” This initiative is being conducted in collaboration with World Athletics and the Regional Development Centre in Cairo, under the direct supervision and coordination of the Syrian Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The course aims to qualify Syrian coaches and refine their theoretical and practical expertise, aligning their skills with the latest internationally recognized training methodologies. According to the Federation, the program is designed to be comprehensive and advanced. It commenced with a series of online theoretical lectures, allowing coaches to access international knowledge without logistical barriers. This virtual phase is scheduled to last for seven days.
Following the completion of the theoretical component, the course will shift to practical implementation. The capital, Damascus, will host the hands-on sessions and final examinations, scheduled from October 31 to November 7. This timeline is intended to ensure a seamless integration between scientific theory and field application.
This training program represents a significant opportunity for participants to gain exposure to Arab and international expertise and to exchange knowledge with specialized experts. Through this initiative, the Federation seeks to improve the quality of training across clubs and national teams. The course is part of a broader strategy to ensure that technical staff remain current with the latest scientific developments, which is expected to positively reflect on the performance of Syrian athletes in various sporting arenas.
Through this regional and international collaboration, the Syrian Arab Athletics Federation reaffirms its commitment to developing the sports environment in Syria.
