New Tender Announced for Oncology Medications at Al-Biruni University Hospital
The General Authority for Supply and Procurement in Syria has announced a new internal tender for the second time, issued with high priority, to meet the requirements of Al-Biruni University Hospital in Damascus for oncology medications. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to bolster medical services and ensure the availability of essential pharmaceutical supplies for patients within the public health sector.
The tender, designated under the reference number (034-M-2026), is open to all qualified companies and suppliers. Interested parties are invited to submit their bids in accordance with the technical specifications outlined in the tender’s technical requirements document. The deadline for the submission of bids has been set for the end of the official working day on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Regarding the financial and procedural requirements, the initial security deposit has been established at 19,366,690 Syrian Pounds. Applicants are required to enclose the receipt for this deposit within the first envelope, which is designated for supporting documentation, while the second envelope must be reserved for the financial offer. The terms also specify that the final performance bond shall be 10% of the total contract value, payable within 10 days from the date of the award notification.
The execution period for the project is set at three months, commencing from the official date of the work commencement order. A delay penalty has been stipulated at one per thousand of the total material value for each day of delay, provided that the total penalty does not exceed 20% of the contract value. Furthermore, bidders are required to maintain the validity of their offers for a period of 180 calendar days, beginning from the day following the end of the tender submission period.
Bids must be submitted in person to the office of the General Authority for Supply and Procurement, located at the General Organization for Free Zones building in Damascus, opposite the General Authority for Ports and Customs building. Interested participants may obtain the tender documentation from the same office for a fee of 50 US dollars. Alternatively, the documentation can be obtained electronically via the “Sham Cash” account service.
This procurement action aligns with the commitment of the relevant authorities to ensure the consistent supply of vital, specialized medications to Al-Biruni University Hospital. As one of the nation’s primary medical centers specializing in cancer treatment, these supplies are essential to maintaining the stability and continuity of care for patients.
